We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) that focuses on bringing understanding and peace to patients and their families during what may seem like a confusing and challenging time.

Responsibilities
In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient’s journey by:
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid physician during examination and procedures.
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Perform EKG and oximetry readings as required by physician.
- Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
- Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited program for practical nursing education.
- 0-3 years’ experience required, preferably in an oncology environment.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
- Demonstrate awareness of community resources available to patients and assist with referrals if necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
